Kensington Palace

Today, the State Rooms are open to the public and managed by the independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, who also run Hampton Court and The Tower of London.

Changing of the Guard

Apart from the Palace itself, why not take the time out for a show of British pomp and ceremony, observe the Changing the Guard service outside of Buckingham Palace. Changing the Guard or Guard Mounting is the process involving a new guard exchanging duty with the old guard.

The Guard that looks after Buckingham Palace is called The Queen’s Guard and is divided into two detachments: The Buckingham Palace Detachment, who is responsible for guarding Buckingham Palace, and the St James’s Palace Detachment, who the similar duty of protecting it

All the guards taking part in the ceremony are dressed in traditional red tunics and bearskin hats, and the ceremony is set to music.

Westminster Abbey

Kings, queens, statesmen, soldiers, poets, and priests. The Abbey is a must-see active parade of British history. Every year Westminster Abbey greets over one million visitors who want to discover this magnificent building which has stood for over 700 years. Thousands more join for worship at the routine daily services. The Abbey is also in the heart of London. Covent Garden

A fashionable destination for visitors and Londoners who love clothes shopping, theatre, diners, bars, antiquity and culture.

Covent Garden consists of 13 theatres and over 60 pubs and bars, with most of them to the south of Long Acre, nearby to the main shopping area of the old market. The Seven Dials space in the north of Covent Garden was home to the punk rock club The Roxy in 1977, and the area continues to be a focal point for young people with its fashionable mid-market retail outlets.
