Chatsworth House & Hardwick Hall Tours

“The palaces of the Peaks”
Tour Highlights: Chatsworth House, the state apartments, formal gardens, extensive parkland and estate, the glorious Peak District, Hardwick Hall, the interior and beautiful grounds.
We leave London early and make our way due North to the magnificent residence of the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth House. The current property dates from the 17th Century and has the reputation as the grandest country house in England. We tour the lavish interiors at our leisure then view the splendid gardens, set in the most glorious Peak District. Of course, Jane Austen aficionados will recognise the house as inspiration for Mr. Darcey’s Pemberley.
We dine at Chatsworth and then we journey onto one of the most well-preserved Tudor mansions in the country, Hardwick Hall. Originally home to the fabulously wealthy Bess of Hardwick. The house is an enduring monument to her success and self-belief. The interior is sumptuously decorated and the gardens equally impressive. Perhaps we will have time for a traditional afternoon tea before we return to London.
