“Old Father Thames, palatial splendour & the birth of time”
Tour Highlights: Historic Royal Greenwich, The Meridian, The Royal Naval Hospital, The Queen`s House, The National Maritime Museum, The Cutty Sark & The Royal Observatory.
We spend our day at one of London`s hidden gems, Royal Greenwich, birthplace of ancient Kings, the most famous being Henry VIII. This location has been closely associated with all things naval for many hundred of years and we take the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich maritime history that simply exudes from every wharf and beautiful building we visit.
The morning is spent at the most famous Tea Clipper sailing ship in the world, The 19TH Century sailing ship, Cutty Sark before we tour Wren`s magnificent 17th Century creation, The Royal Naval Hospital.
After lunch at a lovely Greenwich Inn we then view the fantastic galleries of the National Maritime Museum. We then make our way on to the Royal Observatory and stand on the Meridian itself!
We take a stroll in the tranquil parklands, marvel at the Neo Georgian architecture and explore the antique stores, book shops and charming street markets that historic Greenwich has to offer. If we have time we might take the boat back down Old Father Thames home!
