Tour Highlights: Waddesdon Manor, the historic market town of Amersham, the Quaker settlement of Jordans, Penn`s grave & Milton`s cottage, the beautiful villages of Great Missenden, Wendover and the stunning Chiltern countryside.
We start our day with a pleasant country drive through the magnificent Chiltern countryside, visiting Jordans and the Chalfont villages, pausing at William Penn’s grave and Milton`s cottage . We then journey on to lovely Amersham for a stroll visiting the antique shops perhaps taking a coffee and pastry.
We then journey on to the pretty villages of Great Missenden and Wendover to explore their delights and of course seeking a lovely country pub for lunch.
We then begin our tour of Waddesdon Manor, a 19th century French chateau, created by the fabulously wealthy Rothschild dynasty to house their magnificent collections of art and furniture. The gardens and parkland are quite remarkable in their size and scale. Naturally there is time for tea before we return home.
