“The palace of the Peaks”

Tour Highlights: Chatsworth House, interior to include state apartments, extensive parklands and estate the glorious Peak District, Hardwick Hall interior and beautiful gardens.

We leave London early and take a traditional English breakfast in the beautiful market town of Bakewell before we make our way onto the magnificent residence of the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth House. The current property dates from the 17th Century and has the reputation as the grandest country house in England. We tour the lavish interiors at our leisure then view the splendid gardens, set in the most glorious countryside.

Lunch is taken at one of the Peak District’s rustic inns and then we journey onto one of the most well preserved Tudor mansions, Hardwick Hall, home to the fabulously wealthy Bess of Hardwick. The house is an enduring monument to her success and self belief. The interior is sumptuously decorated and the garden equally impressive.

We take a last glimpse of the breathtaking Peak District, before we travel back to London.

“Hi Oliver It was so nice meeting you today. I have to tell you what a wonderful time we had with Roy! He was just great! We forgot to get his picture! We must have it for our trip books! Could you get a picture of him-maybe with the car-and email it to me? We really would appreciate it! Thanks again. When I get home I will be happy to give you a great review on Facebook. Sincerely Laurie Grellman ” Read more testimonials
